The Easy Way

We will arrange car transport from anyplace in South Thailand.

The most common places and rates are shown below.

Note that rates may change along with major fluctuations in the price of fuel.

Phuket airport: 2 hours 3,300 baht

Surathani airport: 1.5 hours 2.200 baht

Surathani train station: 2 hours 2,200 baht

Krabi: 2.5 hours 3,300 baht

Surathani Don Sak pier: 3,300 baht

The Budget Way

From Bangkok, take the 2nd class sleeper train, which is air-conditioned, comfortable and at approx. 800 baht one-way (lower berth) a very good deal. There are several trains every night, but the 7PM train arrives at Surathani at about 6 AM. It can be delayed.(Timetable).

From there, you can get a bus to Khao Sok. Exit the front entrance of the train station and 30 meters to the right take the Surathani-Phuket bus, getting off at Khao Sok(about 2 hours and 120 baht).

Once at the Khao Sok bus stop, pickup trucks will deliver you to Our Jungle House (50 bt/person). Be insistent, in a friendly way, because they may try to divert you to other places.

From Phuket central bus station, you can get the bus to Surathani and get off at Khao Sok (about 3.5 hours).

From Krabi, ask any hotel or agent where to find the mini-van to Khao Sok. Vans leave every day 11:00 am, costing 300 baht/person(one a day).
