About Our Resort

Our Jungle House

Our Khao Sok treehouses, bungalows and comfortable cottages offer a beautiful selection of scenery and experiences. Your treehouse or bungalow accommodation will look out over a clear river stream or majestic limestone cliffs, surrounded by natural jungle.

Situated on 25 acres of privately owned rainforest, our Khao Sok Resort is a place apart, quiet and peaceful. We are the original green eco resort, and the only treehouse resort actually in the jungle.

We have many different styles of rooms to suit your needs. Every treehouse and bungalow has their own charm and characteristics including an open deck from which to enjoy the views of Khao Sok. You will find yourself immersed in the rainforest with an incredible array of wildlife. Great Hornbill birds and Gibbon monkeys are sometimes seen from our treetop balconies, amongst the fabulous environment bursting with life.

Feel at home at Our Jungle House whether you are a solo adventurer, a family, a couple looking for a romantic get away or a vintage traveller!

We offer open air, fan cooled accommodation in keeping with our eco ethics. As we are surrounded by rainforest, the weather is usually lovely and cool, surpassing the need for energy consuming air-conditioners. Our houses are built with locally grown bamboo, nipa-palm thatch, and other low-impact materials. We take great care and pride in ensuring our rooms are built in harmony and respect to the local environment.

Restaurant and Bar

Join us for world class views of the stunning white cliffs and the gorgeous Klong Sok river from our double storied, open aired bar and restaurant.

Our newly built restaurant and bar continue to be loved and praised by guests on their Trip Advisor reviews. Enjoy high-quality authentic Thai dishes (ask for ‘non-spicy’ if you don’t want it!), as well as delicious western favourites. Vegetarians can eat to their hearts content too!  We offer well-known Thai dishes such as Pad Thai noodles and Green Curry along with less-heard-of Thai favorites such as Kao Soi noodles. If you are craving food from home, try our hearty American breakfast, pasta dishes with garlic bread or one of our many large salads. In the evening relax in our upstairs bar with a cocktail, juice or local beer. It’s a great place to make new friends or unwind after a long days hike.

Tour and Information Desk

You will want to get ‘out and about’ while in Khao Sok to experience this truly magnificent environment. We provide comprehensive information in our tour information books and our friendly and informative English speaking reception staff can assist in booking exciting tours and activities such as river tubing, jungle hikes, canoeing trips, elephant hikes and of course a visit to the spectacular Cheow Lan lake. For more specialized trips such as bird watching and over night trips to Cheowlan lake, we highly recommend booking these in advance with us to assure availability!

Around the Resort

Free WiFi internet is accessible to help our guests keep in touch with the outside world or to upload the day’s exciting photographs. We don’t WiFi the whole resort – just the restaurant and reception area; we like to keep the charm and give guests the chance disconnect and be at one with nature.

On-site enjoyment starts with our river, lined with limestone cliffs. Grab one of our inflated tubes and float down the river past our treehouses, sunbathe at our very own river “beach” or paddle in the stream when the water levels are low. Gorgeous!

If you are feeling active, enjoy one of our three ‘nature walks’ on our property set amongst our private rainforest!

Our Jungle House is a very special property located on 25 acres of private Rainforest on the rivers edge. Guests are often moved by its natural beauty with sublime views of the white limestone Khao Sok is renown for. It is a stunning location for private and special events from; yoga retreats, intimate rustic weddings, environmental workshops, school groups or just asking someone to say “I do!”.

We have a few private spaces that can be used for meetings, private dinners or workshops. We are happy to go out of our way to assure you event or special occasion is a very personal and memorable one in the jungle. We have endless creative ideas to share with you.

In the low season we can offer particularly competitive group rates with activity and delicious food packages.

We welcome you to email Mandy to discuss your occasion: manager@khaosokaccommodation.com

Our Jungle House has become a home away from home for families from all around the world! Being in touch with nature is a wonderful experience, especially for families who’s daily lives are usually lived out in the fast paced cities. Come join us, our cats and dogs at Our Jungle House for a relaxing family stay.

Family life is at the centre of Thai culture so your kids will be very welcome and well taken care of. Kids and adults alike love to stay in our fun family treehouses with bunk beds that regularly receive visits from monkeys on their daily migration route.

We can adjust our Thai menu to suit young palettes and also offer western favorites such as chicken schnitzel with chips or spaghetti bolognese. Our chocolate brownies are a real treat too!

Most of our activities are well suited to families and can be tailor made to your needs. Hiking in the jungle with a specialized guide is a great adventure for teenagers but can be shortened if your kids are just that little bit too young for a long hike. River tubing is a family favorite as is a full day trip to Cheowlan Lake. For soft adventures you may like to try the hot spring in the early evening, elephants treks or a visit to the local village for cooking and handicraft making.

Eco Efforts

We use filtered water in all our rooms and common area to reduce the waste from plastic bottles. We estimate the reduction of over 10,000 bottles annually by doing so.

Community Development

We support education – in 2011, we raised over 2 million baht to build a school for Burmese children who lack access to education.

Local Emloyment

We hire local – most of our service providers are locals, from our guides and bartenders to the electricians and tree trimmers, so we make a big contribution to the local economy.
